Our Baby Quilts & Dohars are lightweight hand block-printed cotton throws made in Jaipur, India — soft layers of cotton designed to breathe in warm weather and add a gentle extra layer when nights turn cool. Each dohar is printed by hand using carved wooden blocks, so tiny shifts in registration and colour depth are part of the character rather than flaws.
The collection runs from small 42 x 42 and 36 x 50 baby sizes ideal for cribs, strollers and playmats, through mid-size throws around 60 x 90, up to larger 90 x 108 dohars that work as a summer coverlet on a full or queen bed. Palettes stay grounded in classic block-print tradition — indigo blue, red, red violet and turquoise, all with floral motifs — so pieces mix easily across a nursery, guest room or living space.

- A dohar is a traditional Indian lightweight throw made of layers of cotton stitched together — softer and more breathable than a padded quilt, but warmer than a single sheet. Our dohars are hand block-printed cotton, which makes them well suited to warm climates, summer nights and layering on beds or cribs. They are not a heavy winter comforter.
- The smaller pieces around 42 x 42 and 36 x 50 inches work well for newborns, cribs, strollers and playmats. The 43 x 60 and 60 x 60 sizes suit toddlers and lap use, 60 x 90 covers a single bed, and 90 x 108 works as a summer coverlet on a full or queen bed. Sizes are listed on each product in inches.
- Each dohar is cut, hand block-printed and finished in Jaipur, India, using carved wooden blocks stamped onto 100% cotton. Because the printing is done by hand, small variations in motif alignment, colour saturation or spacing appear from piece to piece — this is part of the craft and no two dohars are identical.
- We recommend a gentle cold machine or hand wash separately for the first few washes, since hand-printed cottons can release excess colour early on. Use a mild detergent, avoid bleach, and line dry in shade to protect the print. A cool iron on the reverse helps restore the soft finish.
