Cut-make-trim (CMT) is an arrangement where a boutique or designer supplies the design — and often the fabric — and the workshop handles cutting, sewing and finishing, including the "trim" work: buttons, labels, packaging.
You keep control of the product. The manufacturer supplies capacity and skill. It suits a brand that knows exactly what it wants made and does not want to hand over design decisions with it.
What we bring to CMT
Because we print, cut and sew under one roof, a CMT order can start earlier in the process than usual. We can hand block print the fabric to your specification with azo-free, water-based dyes on 100% natural cotton, then cut and sew it in the same unit — rather than you coordinating a printing vendor and a stitching vendor and arbitrating between them when something does not match.
That also collapses the most common CMT failure: fabric arriving late at a stitching unit that has already given your slot to someone else.
What to prepare before you enquire
- Your design or pattern — a tech pack is ideal; a sketch with measurements or a reference garment we can copy also works.
- Approximate order quantity — our minimum order quantity is 25 units, varying by product.
- Fabric preference, if you have one, or ask us to recommend based on the design.
- Your size set and grading. Supplying a graded size chart avoids the slowest round of back-and-forth there is.
- Labels and packaging — whether you are supplying them or want us to source them.
The more of that arrives in the first message, the closer the first quote is to the real one.
Sampling comes first
A CMT order should always start with a sample. It is where a pattern gets corrected, a fit issue shows up, and you confirm the print sits where you expected on the finished garment. Approving a physical sample before bulk is the single most effective thing a buyer can do to avoid an expensive surprise — and it is far cheaper to remake one garment than a run of 25.
Timeline
Custom and CMT production is made to order, typically 7–10 working days depending on quantity and complexity, then shipped worldwide by DHL Express, which usually delivers in about 5–8 working days. Sampling sits before that, so build both into any launch date.
