You get control over motif, colourway and quantity — but you also take on decisions a reseller would have made for you. Here is what a Jaipur manufacturer actually needs from you, and what you should expect back, using our own numbers as a concrete example.
Who this is for

Materials and process
We hand block print on 100% natural cotton (organic options available) using azo-free, water-based dyes, with blocks carved and colour mixed in-house. Cutting and sewing happen in the same Jaipur unit if you need finished garments rather than fabric — see our CMT manufacturing guide.
What to send with your first enquiry
A vague enquiry gets a vague quote. What lets us answer properly:
- What the fabric is for — garments, home textiles, or resale by the length. It changes what we recommend.
- Quantity and unit — pieces or yardage, and per design.
- Motif and colourway, or a reference image if you want something carved.
- Your timeline, including the date you need it landed rather than shipped.
Custom designs and repeatability
Custom work means a block carved to your artwork and colour mixed to your reference. Two things worth knowing: carving adds time before production starts, and the block is then kept, so the design can be printed again. For a brand building a range around a signature print, that repeatability is the whole point of working with a maker rather than buying whatever is in stock this season.
Lead times
Every order is made to order, not pulled from bulk stock, which takes roughly 7–10 working days (longer for larger quantities) before shipping worldwide by DHL Express, typically 5–8 working days in transit. Sampling and any block carving sit before that.
